She was born on October 1, 1935 at Cortland, NE to Jesse and Fannie (Waltke) Jurgens. She attended Beatrice Public Schools, and later earned her GED. Josephine and Melvin Ideus were married on April 10, 1955 until he passed away in 2006. She was married to Marvin Eden from April 5, 2008 until he passed away in 2013. Read More	Josephine (Ideus) Eden, 81 years of age, of Beatrice passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, March 27, 2017. She was born on October 1, 1935 at Cortland, NE to Jesse and Fannie (Waltke) Jurgens. She attended Beatrice Public Schools, and later earned her GED. Josephine and Melvin Ideus were married on April 10, 1955 until he passed away in 2006. She was married to Marvin Eden from April 5, 2008 until he passed away in 2013. She had been employed at the Beatrice State Developmental Center as a nurse's aid for over 20 years. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice and had been involved at the Beatrice Senior Center. Josephine enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing bingo, talking with people, and tracking family heritage. She especially enjoyed doing things for her grandchildren. Survivors include her son Wayne Ideus and wife Patti from Basehor, KS; grandsons Aaron Ideus and wife Kimberly of Hillsborough, NC, Nathan Ideus and wife Sami of Lincoln, and Joshua Ideus of Lawrence, KS; sister Viola Barnard and husband Frank of Powell, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Fannie (Waltke) Jurgens; husbands Melvin Ideus and Marvin Eden; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with Reverend Myron Meyer officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery. The body will lie in state Thursday from 10-8:00 and Friday until the time of the service at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel.
