Description	:	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, September 11, 1969 Miss Josephine Peck, sister of the late Ruth Brubaker (Mrs. Harvey A.), formerly of Nelson, Nebraska, died at the hospital in Superior Wednesday morning, September 10, 1969. Miss Peck was born October 10, 1881 at Taylorville, Illinois to Albert R. and Lucy Peck. She came to Franklin, Nebraska with her family when very young. Attended Franklin Academy graduated 1900 Literary Degree, and graduated from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa, A.B. Degree 1906. Miss Peck was born October 10, 1881 at Taylorville, Illinois to Albert R. and Lucy Peck. She came to Franklin, Nebraska with her family when very young. Attended Franklin Academy graduated 1900 Literary Degree, and graduated from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa, A.B. Degree 1906. She lived in Franklin until 1931 then moved to Corydon, Iowa where she cared for her sister, Lucy Davis, then came to Nelson in 1945 and lived with Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Brubaker. She was registrar at Franklin Academy from 1912 to 1919, was city librarian in Franklin, from 1922 to 1931, From 1945 to 1956 she helped care for: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Scherzinger (8 years), Mrs. Ed Portwood, and Mrs. Bertha Tumbleson. She suffered with Parkinson's Disease for many years. In January of 1961 entered Good Samaritan Home at Hastings, and in March of 1968 entered Good Samaritan Home at Nelson. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Nelson. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, September 11, 1969 at 2:00 p.m. at the Klawitter Funeral Home in Nelson. Burial will be at Franklin, Nebraska.
