Saturday, Sacred Heart Church Mrs. William Neu, 80, died at her home in Templeton at 6:30 this morning. The immediate cause of her death was a heart ailment, with which she had been ill for two days. Mrs. Neu had been in poor health since suffering a broken hip about six years ago. She had been able to be up and around her home, however, and had attended church services Sunday. Funeral services are to be at 9:30 Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Church here, with Rt. Rev. Monsignor F. H. Huesmann offering the requiem mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Neu was born Josephine Roth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Roth, at Guttenberg, Iowa, March 7, 1862. As a young woman, she came to Carroll with her parents, who settled at Roselle. Feb. 18, 1890 she married William Neu. Mr. and Mrs. Neu made their home on a farm near Roselle from the time of their marriage until eighteen years ago when they retired and moved to their present home in Templeton. Their son, Peter, now lives on the old home place. Surviving with her husband are three children: Mrs. Mary Behrens, who makes her home with her parents; Peter Neu of Roselle and Mrs. John Taphorn (Helen) of Odebolt. Their are eighteen grandchildren. On Feb. 18, 1940, Mr. and Mrs. Neu celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Mrs. Neu was a member of Sacred Heart Church, died well fortified with last sacraments. She also belonged to the Christian Mothers Sodality. +++ Funeral Rites For Mrs. Neu At Templeton Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Church, Templeton, at 9:30 Saturday morning for Mrs. William Neu, who passed away at her home there Wednesday, May 13. The requiem mass was offered by Rt. Rev. Monsignor F.H. Huesmann. The requiem mass was sung by Elmer Gerken, Jerome Koenig, Louis Greving and Alver Behrens, students at Trinity College, Sioux City. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Neu was one of a family of ten children, the only survivor of whom is Mrs. Mary Mossmann, 86 years old, who lives at Lindsay, Tex., and was unable to attend the funeral. Mrs. Neu had lived in Templeton for eighteen years, prior to which time her husband and she had resided on their farm south of Templeton.
