The deceased had been in ill health for two years, and death came as a welcome relief to his suffering. He is survived by one daughter, Hattie, Mrs.Arthur Langdon of Dorchester, Mass.; one grandson, Frank R. Meldrum of Wentzell's Lake; two granddaughters, Ruby Bearfield and Shirley Langdon; and two great granddaughters, Nancy and Betty Bearfield of Dorchester, Mass. His wife and son predeceased him several years ago. He was of a happy-go-lucky nature and made many friends during his life. The funeral was held at the United Church of Upper Branch on November 15 at 2 p.m. and was largely attended by relatives and friends. The service was conducted by Rev. MacIntosh of Bridgewater. He spoke very comfortingly from Psalms, Revelation, Romans, and John. The hymns rendered by the Upper Branch choir, assisted by Mr. Langille of Barss Corner, were "Shall We Gather at the River," "Abide With Me," and " The Old Rugges Cross." The pall-bearers, Roy Wagner, Brunswick Rhodenizer, Clarence Wentzell, and Wallace Bolivar, were close friends of the deceased.
