A year later they moved to Jefferson county and a short time later to Van Buren county, of which he was a resident the remainder of his life. …February 14, 1873, he was united in marriage to Olive West at Birmingham, who preceded him in death three years ago. To this union were born four children – C. H. Anderson of LaGrange, Mo, _ W. of Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. J. W. Barker of Birmingham and Mrs. E.N. Wood of Ottumwa, Iowa. He also leaves one brother, Charles Anderson, Council Grove, Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Bonnett, Mrs. Israel Bonnet and Mrs. M. W. Nelson, all of Birmingham, besides many other relatives and friends. …The funeral service held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. G. W. Holmes and the body was laid to rest in the Maple Hill cemetery beside his wife. …We desire to thank you many friends for the kindness and sympathy shown on the death of our father, Josiah Anderson, and also for the floral gifts so generously given.
