JULIA ANN PARKHURST Julia Ann Marker, eldest daughter of William Edward and Cordelia Marker, was born in Ottercreek township, Lucas county, Iowa, February 15, 1922, and passed away at the home of Dale Parkhurst at Alden, Iowa, Sunday, February 17, 1946, at the age of 24 years and two days. She was converted at Norwood and became a member of the Norwood United Brethren church of which she remained faithful until her death. On February 20, 1943, she was united in marriage to Russell Parkhurst at Princeton, Mo. Julia spent most of her life in Lucas county but in 1944, with her husband, lived several months at Sheffield, Iowa. In 1945 they moved to Mitchell county where they were residing at the time of Mrs. Parkhurst's death. Going to the home of her brother-in-law, Dale Parkhurst, Sunday, February 17, for a visit whe was suddenly stricken with a heart attack and passed away in a few minutes. Julia was a loving wife, daughter and sister. She will be greatly missed from the midst of her family and many friends. She is survived by her husband, Russell Parkhurst, of Osage, Iowa, mother, Mrs. Cordelia Marker, of Chariton, one sister, Mrs. Roy Johnson and one brother, John William Marker, both of Osage, her aged grandfather, John W. Marker, of Lucas, father and mother-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Miles Parkhurst, of Lucas. She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Charles Riley and Raymond Marker. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Leroy Sargent, pastor of Norwood United Brethren church, were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Downs funeral chapel. Burial was in the Fletcher cemetery.
