JUNUIS HARRY HILDEBRAND PAWNEE CITY- Junius Harry Hildebrand, 90, Pawnee City, died February 6, 1999. He was born June 5, 1908 to James P. Hildebrand and Lucia Moore Hildebrand. Junius attended DuBois Public School, where he graduated in 1926. Upon graduation, he began farming. Junius was united in marriage with Nellie Schultz on August 7, 1933. Besides farming, Junius was also a substitute mail carrier and briefly operated the gas station in DuBois. It was during this time that Junius and Nellie were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Nikki Ann. During the depression, Junius quit farming and moved to Omaha with his family. He began working in the auto service department at Sears. Later, he left to work at Omaha Public Power District. He worked for OPPD for over 32 years. While employed there, he held various positions from boiler room fireman to plant control room and coal handling operations shift supervisor. He worked at the South Omaha, Jones Street, and North Omaha power stations. While living in Omaha, Junius and Nellie's family grew to include three sons, J. Dennis, Thomas J., and Timothy H. In July 1973, Junius retired from the North Omaha plant and he and his wife moved to a farm south of Table Rock and east of Pawnee City, where they lived for 22 years. Then health problems forced Junuis to move to the Pawnee Manor, where he remained until his death. Junius was preceded in death by his son Timothy. Survivors include his wife, Nellie of Pawnee City; brother, Don (Kenneth) Hildebrand of DuBois; sister, Pauline Reist of Bern, Kan.; daughter, Nikki Cattano of Omaha; sons, Dennis of Humboldt and Thomas of Table Rock; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at Wherry Brothers Mortuary, Pawnee City, with Pastor Robert White officiating. Pallbearers were Paul Cattano, Mark Cattano, Terry Cattano, Steven Cattano, Clinton Cattano, and Randol Johnson. Music was provided by Lesa Eichenberger, soloist, and Mary Alice Thiemann, organist. Interment was in the Pawnee City Cemetery. (THE PAWNEE REPUBLICAN, Thursday, February 18, 1999.)
