Mrs. Justina Mueller passed away at the Fred Lenth home, where she had been for about a week, at 4:45 Saturday afternoon, January 8th, 1916. Justina Rudder was born May 2nd, 1875, in Garnavillo township, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Rudder. She was united in marriage to Henry Mueller, October 16th, 1894, at Garnavillo, and began house-keeping on a farm near there, which had always been their home. Mrs. Mueller died three years ago last August. To Mr. and Mrs. Mueller were born five children, two sons and three daughters: Oliver, twenty years old; Laura, Marie, Viola and Valmah, the baby, three years old. April 1st, 1888, she was confirmed in the German Lutheran church, by Rev. Sommerlad, and has always been faithful to her church. The remains were taken to Garnavillo Sunday afternoon following a short prayer service, at the Lenth home, conducted by Rev. C. H. Frank. Funeral services were held at her late home Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock, and at St. Paul’s German Lutheran church at 1 o’clock, Rev. Braun, a nephew of the deceased, officiating. Her remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband. The pall bearers were Chas. Henning, Chas. Roggman, Fred Mohning, Ed Radenmacher, Henry Schumacher and Henry Sulte. Besides her children, she is survived by her aged mother, two sisters, Miss Maggie, at home, and Mrs. John Wierham, of near Clayton Center, and one brother, Herman Rudder, of Hanford, Cal.
