Description	:	ORD — Karen K. Wilson, 73, of Ord died Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Ord First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Trever Rook will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wilson was born Nov. 28, 1941, at Rockville to Edwin and Mae (Krakowski) Dethlefs. She was raised on a farm seven miles west of Rockville. She attended Rural School District No. 53 and graduated from Rockville High School in 1959. She then attended Business College in Omaha. On Sept. 30, 1961, Karen was married to Gary Wilson at Rockville. She then worked in Loup City for the Extension Agency. They moved to Fresno, Calif., in 1965 and she worked for the U.S. Post Office and the IRS there. In 1977, the couple moved to Phoenix and she continued working for the IRS. In 1981, they moved to Ord and Karen worked for the Bureau of Reclamation and Loup Basin RC&D. Karen retired 10 years ago. Karen was active in Ord First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, the Valley County Health System Hospice and worked at the Ord Food Pantry. Survivors include her husband, Gary, of Ord; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Alan Wilson Monson and Kimberly and Kenneth Wilson Howell, all of Boulder City, Nev.; four grandchildren, Ashley and Kylen Smith and Stewart and Tanner Howell; a great-grandson, Colton Smith; a brother, Gerald “Buzz” Dethlefs, and his special friend, Marie Mayberry, of Cape Coral, Fla.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty and Jerome Moritz of Grand Island, Denise and John Wardyn of Wichita, Kan., and Cindy and Bruce Ash of Arcadia. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Georgene Steele.
