Karl grew up in St. John, WA and as a boy, moved to the family farm in Endicott, WA. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in England. He was born January 10, 1916 to John and Katie Bafus Luft. Karl grew up in St. John, WA and as a boy, moved to the family farm in Endicott, WA. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in England. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Endicott to farm. Karl married Mary Jane McLeod in Coeur d'Alene, ID on May 27, 1955 and they made Endicott their home. They maintained the family farm with his brother. Karl moved to Walla Walla in 1999 after Mary Jane passed away. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Endicott, the VFW of Colfax and the Endicott Gun Club. He was a huge Mariner fan and loved to watch baseball. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and enjoyed watching their sporting events. Karl is survived by his daughter, Karlyn Wilson and her husband Mike of Walla Walla, WA; his son, Roger Luft of Vancouver, WA; his brother, August Luft of Colfax, WA; his sister, Mildred Jones of St. John, WA; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Luft in 1996, three brothers, one sister and his parents. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott, WA. A Graveside Vault Interment will follow at the Endicott Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Congregational Church of Endicott, to the Endicott Fire Department or to the donor's choice.
