Description	:	The columns of the dutiful "Leader," reported last week, the sad news of another man bowing in obedience to the summons of the great Master--Mr. Charles Haller, of Blue Hill--the good husband, the true friend, the active citizen and loving father, who to the sorrow of the family and the host of friends, comforted and strengthened by the sacraments and rites of the holy mother church, passed away, April 12th, to enter the land of justice and truth in the great beyond. Read More	The columns of the dutiful "Leader," reported last week, the sad news of another man bowing in obedience to the summons of the great Master--Mr. Charles Haller, of Blue Hill--the good husband, the true friend, the active citizen and loving father, who to the sorrow of the family and the host of friends, comforted and strengthened by the sacraments and rites of the holy mother church, passed away, April 12th, to enter the land of justice and truth in the great beyond. Mr. Karl Haller was born in Oberteuringen, Germany, October 31st (30th per Oberteuringen church record), 1835 and after giving part of his youth to the service of his native land, in June, 1861 he came to America in search of freedom and opportunity, settling in Iowa, where with ability and vigor, commenced the task due to every mortal, not only to acquire the means of his own living, but also those of supporting and sustaining a family. To this end, he succeeded wonderfully and when circumstances were favorable enough, he married Miss Elizabeth Hess, of Muscatine, Iowa, August 19, 1862. From this happy union were born 11 children, three of whom preceeded him to the world of the blessed, the rest remaining to mourn his departure, together with a disconsolate wife. They are: Charles and Peter of Culbertson, Nebraska; John, of Beverly; Frank, Anna Berns and Mary Copley, of Bladen; Josephine Holverson, of Red Cloud, and Regina Hauserman, of Kansas City, Missouri. Forty-two grandchildren and four great grandchildren are added to the crown of the numerous family whose duty will be to walk straight on the path traced by the industrious life of their grand and great grandfather, thus to perpetuate his memory among the friends at Bladen, Nebraska, where he came in 1885 and of Blue Hill, where he came in 1903, to be an active member of the community and a faithful child of the Holy Trinity church, whose assistance and light he sought, to fulfill his duties toward God and man. The large attendance at the funeral and the grand floral tribute offered by his children and loving friends, bespeak in what esteem he was and is held. May the members of the bereaved family be consoled at the thought that he prepared well to appear at God's tribunal; that he is living at the divine presence and also in our heart, while in sympathy, we mourn with them his departure.
