Kate and her niece, Maria Gantt Keller, lived together for several years in Richmond before WWII. 4/12/1993 Dear Family and Friends: We have talked to most of the family over the phone about Kate Gantt Dixon's stroke on Thursday. All reports show improvement, but she will be in University Hospital, Charlottesville for a while for therapy. Catherine Hatter, a neighbor who is a nurse has been with her. Reports have it that she had a lot of visits yesterday. For those of you not in our family, Kate is the aunt with home I lived in before marriage. She is the one that helped me make important decisions and the one with whom I feel very close. Our prayers go out for Kate's speedy recovery. Catherine Hatter has been with her, and Marion and Marie come frequently. At 93 we cannot expect a rapid recovery. We got to see Marie and the others. and most of our family. Went by to see Helen and Lewis, then to Mother's house. Helen was confined with a very bad back. Helen: We hope you are improving.
