Nelsen, nee Katherine Christensen, was born October 18, 1845, in Westurvig, Denmark, and passed away in Minden, Nebraska, at 7 o'clock Tuesday morning, September 13, 1821. July 28, 1869, she was married in Denmark to Thomas D. Nelsen. They came to America May 12 1872, making their home in Chicago until 1878, at which time they came to Kearney county, making their home a farm six miles southeast of Minden, where they resided until 1911, at which time they came to Minden, where they have resided since that time. Nelsen, nee Katherine Christensen, was born October 18, 1845, in Westurvig, Denmark, and passed away in Minden, Nebraska, at 7 o'clock Tuesday morning, September 13, 1821. July 28, 1869, she was married in Denmark to Thomas D. Nelsen. They came to America May 12 1872, making their home in Chicago until 1878, at which time they came to Kearney county, making their home a farm six miles southeast of Minden, where they resided until 1911, at which time they came to Minden, where they have resided since that time. Mrs. Nelsen was the mother of six children, five of whom are living, one having died in infancy in Illinois. She is survived by her husband, Thomas D. Nelsen, two daughter, Mrs. Anna Bayer of Minden and Mrs. Mattie Nielsen of San Francisco, and three sons, Chris N. Nelsen and Albert Nelsen of Minden and John A Nelsen. One sister, Mrs. L. K. Larsen of San Diego, Calif., one brother Peter C Christensen, also survive the deceased. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. I. C. Rankin of the United Presbyterian church at the residence at 2 o'clock Friday and at the Presbyterian church at 2:30 o'clock. Interment was in Minden cemetery.
