Description	:	Mrs. John Bell, 83, resident of the Richland community 63 years, died at her home Wednesday evening, April 26, after a long illness. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Platte County. Mrs. Bell, the former Katherine Miller, was born Feb. 28, 1878 in Wittenburg, Germany. Her parents were Fred and Christina Schidly Miller. She came to the United States at the age of 11 with her parents who located near Octavia. Miss Miller and John Bell were married in Schuyler Feb. 22, 1898. Mrs. Bell, the former Katherine Miller, was born Feb. 28, 1878 in Wittenburg, Germany. Her parents were Fred and Christina Schidly Miller. She came to the United States at the age of 11 with her parents who located near Octavia. Miss Miller and John Bell were married in Schuyler Feb. 22, 1898. They lived near Octavia for a short time and then moved to a farm northwest of Richland. She is survived by three sons, Fred of Columbus, Chris of Richland and David at home; three daughters, Anna, Mrs. Paul Ewert, and Bernice, Mrs. Paul Smith of Bellwood, and Mrs. Ruby Ernst of Columbus; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Chris Miller of David City and a sister, Christiana, Mrs. Roy Van Fleet of Loretto. Preceding her in death were her husband, a son, John in October 1960, an infant son and daughter; her parents, a brother, and three sisters.
