BAYARD NEWS - Thursday, March 20th, 1941 - Funeral services for Miss Katherine V Corbett were held from St Patricks Catholic church Wednesday morning. Miss Corbett, who was 63 years old, died at her home in Omaha early Monday after a lingering illness of almost a year. Miss Corbett had lived with her sister, Margaret Corbett in Omaha the last 23 years. She was born on a farm near Scranton and when still in school moved with her parents to Bayard. She was graduated from the Bayard High school and later attended business school in Des Moines. She was employed at the Swift and Co office in Omaha until recently. Miss Corbett was well known and had many friends in Bayard. Besides her sister, Margaret, she is survived by three brothers: Dan Corbett of Tonapah, Nevada; Charles Corbett of Raymondville, Texas, and James H. Corbett of Bayard. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Maurice Corbett. Interment was in Willow cemetery with Emmett Finnigan, Walter Finnigan, Dave McKeon, Roger Finnegan, William Murrane and Arthur Moylan acting as bearers. Among those attending the funeral from out-of-town were Miss Margaret Corbett, Miss Margaret Louise Corbett, Mrs. Maraget Rosenbaum, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Tolbert, Will Longman, Mrs. Hattie Joseph and E.L. McDonald of Omaha, Mrs. Edward Porter of Denver, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Summon and Mrs. Charles O'Brien and son, Jr., of Des Moines, Mrs. S.N. Fangman of Boone and Mrs. M. Bruner, Mr. and Mrs. T.J. O'Brien, Mack Elvin, and Francis Kennedy of Jefferson.
