OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, April 5, 1988 SELLERS Keith Vernon Sellers was born in Lucas County, August 12, 1911, the eldest child of John Mark and Maude Emaline Wright Sellers. He passed away March 19, 1988 at Southgate Apartments in Chariton, at the age of 76 years and seven months. Keith spent his entire life in Lucas County. He always lived at home, being faithful to his family members. He took pride in school and school athletics, playing on the football team. Keith was a longtime member of Bethel Church, where he served in many capacities such as church school superintendent and financial secretary. Keith lived a simple, humble life. He was unassuming, always dependable, and sincere. Through his faith in God, Keith overcame many adversities. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, John Richard Sellers, a nephew, Verle Eldon Sellers, and a great-nephew, Lloyd Allen Sellers. Survivors include a brother Clair of Russell, two sisters Helen Hull of Russell and Shirley McDonald of Chariton, 23 nieces and nephews, 20 great-neices and nephews, one great-great nephew and a host of friends. He was a very special man. Memorial services for Keith Sellers were held Tuesday, March 29, 1988 at 2 p.m. at the Bethel United Methodist Church. The service was conducted by Reverend Tompsie Smith, with music by Mrs. Jo DeBok. A private committal service was held at the Bethel Cemetery prior to the memorial service. Funeral arrangements were by the Mosher Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Bethel Church.
