He was born Sept. 3, 1927, in the same farm home where he had been living. His parents were Louis and Alma Hasemann Volpp. He was a 1945 graduate of Scribner High School. He farmed all his working years, and also worked for IBP for seven years. He married Violet Kurz on Nov. 20, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church, west of Scribner. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of rural Hooper, the Izaak Walton League and Elkhorn Valley Gun Club. He was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his family and farming the land, and trapshooting with his boys. Survivors include: his wife, Violet; two daughters, Linda Ruwe and Lori (and husband, Paul) Valla, all of Scribner; two sons, David (and wife, Peggy) Volpp of Scribner and Allen Volpp (and special friend, Sheila) of Fremont; eight grandchildren, Bill Whitehead, Bryce Whitehead (and fiancee, Aelene), Summer (Valla) (and husband, Robbie Mau), Chad (and wife, Tara) Valla, Jeremiah (and wife, Amanda) Volpp, Joshua Volpp (and fiancee, Jamie), Jesse Volpp and Paul (and wife, Elizabeth) Valla; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Whitehead and Jackson Volpp. Kenneth will be reunited with his son, Daniel. A private family service will be held. Memorials, in memory of Kenneth Volpp, are suggested to Mosaic and to the donor's choice. Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
