Description	:	Kirby D Dorrel, 76, of Connersville, passed away Sunday morning, November 15, 2015 at Lincoln Centers West of Connersville where he had been a resident for the past year and a half. He had been in failing health, but his death was unexpected. He was born March 12, 1939 in Brookville, one of three sons of Gaylord and Mary Myers Dorrel. He was a veteran of the U. S. Read More	Kirby D Dorrel, 76, of Connersville, passed away Sunday morning, November 15, 2015 at Lincoln Centers West of Connersville where he had been a resident for the past year and a half. He had been in failing health, but his death was unexpected. He was born March 12, 1939 in Brookville, one of three sons of Gaylord and Mary Myers Dorrel. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving his country from November 1957 to November 1961. In 2000, he retired from Roots Connersville Blower Company, where he had been an engineer. A member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, he also belonged to the Eagles , the Moose Lodge and the AMVETS. He enjoyed playing golf and watching his grandson play. Survivors include his daughter, Kelly Gettinger and her husband, Chris of Connersville; two grandchildren: Caigan and Kenzie Gettinger; a brother Keith Dorrel and his wife, Mary Ann, of Okeana, OH; and a special friend, Mary Telker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord and Mary Myers Dorrel and a brother, Steve Dorrel. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Robbie Judd of the Alquina United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, where friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial, with military rites conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Council, will be in Big Cedar Cemetery in Franklin County.
