GOODRICH DEAD Lafayette Bruce Goodrich died Friday evening at 7 o'clock at his home, 101 Congress, following a 2 months' illness. Lafayette Bruce Goodrich, son of David F. and Jane Bruce Goodrich, was born February 13, 1848, in Otsego county, N.Y., and came to Emporia in May, 1867. He was married November 20, 1870, in Emporia, to Elizabeth Rickabaugh, who died September 20, 1898. Mr. Goodrich was married March 5, 1900, in Emporia, to Altha J. Leavitt, who survives him. Besides Mrs. Goodrich he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Grace M. Smith, Wichita, and Mrs. Edith Smith, Emporia, and a brother, Jesse D. Goodrich, Emporia. Mr. Goodrich was a Civil War veteran. He served as a private in the Forty-fifth Wisconsin for six months, receiving his honorable discharge at the close of the war. He was a member of the G.A.R. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Grace Methodist church. Rev. J. C. Brogan will conduct the services. Interment will be in Maplewood cemetery.
