Visitation will be held 6:00–7:00pm, Monday, September 25, 2017 at Feigum Funeral Home, concluding with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Laurence “Larry” Kavin O’Daniel was born April 21st, 1953 in Redfield, SD to Lloyd and Marion (VanDerBilt) O’Daniel. Larry spent his early years on a farm near Ashton, SD. In the winter of 1960 he moved with his family to Fort Pierre where he attended Stanley County School. Larry married the love of his life, Lori Marlene Peterson, on August 4th 1973. To this union he was blessed with two daughters, Talli and Tara, who, with their marriages, gave him two sons he always wanted. Larry was last employed by Stanley County. He was grateful to have been part of the Stanley County family. Larry knew no stranger and was always there to lend a hand to anyone who was in need. He was an animal lover and could calm the most skittish horse, stubborn cow or anxious dog with a touch of his hand or a few words. He adored the horses and dogs that were lucky enough to be his. Nothing made him happier than springtime rides on his horses in the pasture listening to the birds and watching the new calves running with their tails in the air. Larry was famous for his one liners: “I should have been rich instead of good looking”, “We can do that”, “You Got This” or “You girls are lucky your dad is so good looking”. He was known to occasionally sing “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas” to bring a smile to his girls or adored wife “Martha”. Larry was a family man and always had time to teach life lessons to his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews or to solve the world’s problems over a cup of coffee with his brothers and sisters. Survivors omitted due to privacy.
