Read More	Laura Adabella Horner McClelland of Marlton, N.J., 92, breathed her last at Vindobona, H.C., in Frederick Maryland on May 31, 2016. She was born on December 1, 1923 in Cherry Hill, N.J., at a home named "Sunnyside" on Haddonfield-Merchantville Road to the late Maurice and Blanche Meredith Horner. Her four older sisters and spouses were Mary and Alan Rhoades, Edna and Harvey Wirth, Bertha and Frank Gates, and Verna and Bud Powell. Her niece Dolores Wirth, resides on the original Horner farm land where Laura lived until the last few years. Laura and J. Norton McClelland built their family of five children and home on the Horner farmland. Her daughter Barbara is deceased. Laura is survived by her daughter Ginny Schartner and her husband Jim her son Jim Norton McClelland and his wife Nancy, her son Jack McClelland, and her daughter Dorothy Sirolly and her husband Tom. She is survived by nine grandchildren: Ellen, Scott, and Jeff Schartner, Summer Trout, Jasauna McClelland, Cassie Turner, Apollo Jack Ford, and Ben and Katie Sirolly. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren. Laura graduated Haddonfield High School in 1941 with a well-trained operatic voice. She worked in Philadelphia at Curtis Publishing and Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co., until she married 1943. Her Marlton home was built by herself and her family members after WWII, in 1947. She was among the first women hired to work on commission sales at Sears in the 1960s. Laura lived fully through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her many nieces, nephews, and her beloved Marlton Methodist Church family and friends. Her faith led her to volunteer as church secretary in the 1960s years typing where she ran off bulletins and cared for membership rolls. She also volunteered as choir director, youth adviser, Sunday School Teacher, UMC Historian and UMW and Women's Society officer. She wrote for The Central Record and she volunteered as an active officer from the 1950s until the 2000s with Lenape Regional PTA, Marlton Garden Club, Sears retirees club, Evesham Historical Society. She also supported her family after 1968 while working full time at Sears' Moorestown Mall, N.J., store. Her love of the Lord and passion for singing sustained her always. A viewing will be held Saturday from 11am until the start of services at 12:30 in the Marlton United Methodist Church on Plymouth Dr. and Marlboro Ave. with Pastor Anne Gillette and family in attendance. Interment at Marlton Baptist Cemetery through Bradley Funeral Home of Marlton N.J.
