BARROW DIED SATURDAY Had Been a Patient in Hospital for 6 Weeks With Typhoid Fever and Cancer Mrs. Louis Barrow passed away Saturday night at 9:10 oclock at the Jefferson County hospital where she had been a patient for the past 6 weeks suffering from typhoid fever and cancer. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 oclock from the Hoskins funeral Home in charge of Dr. H. B. Scoles. Interment will be in the Evergreen cemetery. Laura Booth was born October 12, 1862 in Beureau (sic. Bureau) County, Ill., and came to this county with ehr (sic) parents when 2 1-2 years of age. They settled on a farm 3 miles northwest of the city. On March 4, 1891 she was married to Loouis Barrow and they settled on a farm within a mile of her parents home and they have made their home there since. Three children were born to them, two having died in infancy and one son, Charles H. of 5 miles northwest of the city, also two grandchildren. Two brothers, Ernest of Tacoma, Wash., and Frank of this city, three sisters, Mrs. Ed. Bates, Mrs. Joe Shelton and Mrs. Ed Neiswagner all of this city survive her. Mr. Barrow passed away 1 year and 7 months ago. ----------- From the History of Jefferson County - 1912, Volume II, Pages 255-256: "....Laura Booth, who was born in Illinois in October, 1863. As a little maiden of two summers, she came to Iowa with her parents, Isaac and Susannah (Booth) Booth, who were both natives of Ohio. The father has now passed away, and the mother makes her home in Fairfield...." Wife of Louis K. Barrow. "....In the family of Mr. and Mrs. Barrow there were three children, but only one, Charles H., is now living. John Henry passed away in early childhood, and a twin sister of Charles died in infancy...."
