Briggs Ave., died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 1997, at Jefferson County Hospital. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Open visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home. Briggs Ave., died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 1997, at Jefferson County Hospital. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Mrs. Schock was born Dec. 9, 1912, at Donnellson, the daughter of Harvey (sic. Harbin Harvey Sheffer) and Emma Harnagel Sheffer. She grew up in the Donnellson community and graduated from Donnellson High School. She worked at a bank in Donnellson before moving to Fairfield in 1935. She married Roy E. Schock on Sept. 8, 1935, at the parsonage in Donnellson. She worked at Iowa State Bank and Trust Company for 29 1/2 years as bookkeeper, teller and later as cashier. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Gamma Circle and several bridge clubs. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Judy Bailey of Fairfield; one son, Roger of Davenport; one granddaughter; and a sister, Madeline Anderson of West Branch. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter and one brother, Harbin Sheffer.
