Read More	Lauraine Alice Breeding, daughter of Eva Mae (Braden) and Ward Lawrence Fickel, was born January 17, 1912 in Henderson, Iowa. She graduated from the Malvern High School in 1929. Lauraine attended junior college in Kansas City, Missouri and was affiliated with Kappa Alpha Phi. Lauraine worked at Klines and Berksons in Kansas City where she modeled clothing, millinery, jewelry and hair styles. She appeared at style shows at the coliseum and the American Royal. Lauraine was united in marriage to Benjamin Swain Breeding in Odessa, Missouri on November 25, 1936. They began their married life together in a lovely Victorian home in Malvern, Iowa. To this union were born three children, Sandra Lynn, Patricia Ann, and Bruce Edward. Lauraine enjoyed her home and used her artistic talents in sewing, interior decorating, flower arranging, and antiques restoration. She was an ardent collector of glassware and china. Her home was always filled with red geraniums, her favorite plant. Lauraine and Ben, a prominent Malvern businessman, had been married for 33 years when Ben died on August 25, 1969. Lauraine continued to live in her beloved home until her death on September 29, 2004 at the age of 92 years, 8 months, and 12 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Benjamin Breeding; daughter Sandra Blank Lobsinger; and half brothers, Dr. Jack Fickel and Lawrence Fickel. Lauraine is survived by daughter, Patricia Malcom and her husband Robert of Malvern; son, Bruce Breeding and his wife Debbi of Clive, Iowa; half sister, Betty Lu Powell of Odessa, MO; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Ilene Conyers of Waupaca, WI and Carolyn Breeding of Peoria, AZ; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
