Fay Charling Mills (1893 NE-1988 NE) ----------------------------------------------- MRS. CLARENCE DAVIS ANSWERS FINAL CALL After a long illness which dates back nearly nine months, Mrs. Clarence C. Davis was compelled to yield to the inevitable and on Friday passing away at her home in Sidney, Nebraska. The body was brought to Loup City for burial arriving here Monday morning, and was taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Anna May. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Methodist church in charge of Rev. G. M. Carter, pastor of the church, and the body was laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery beside that of her first husband, Mr. E. A. Brown. Lavinia Goldsworthy was born at Manidlois, Wales, June 5, 1868. When a young woman she came with her parents to Sherman County, where, in 1888, she was married to Edward A. Brown. To this union were born a son and a daughter. Mr. Brown passed away in 1922. Mrs. Brown moved from Loup City to Lincoln in 1909, and thence to Friend. Following the death of her husband she moved to Boston, Mass., after to Omaha, and in 1930 to Sidney. In February, 1932, she was married to Clarence C. Davis, at Sidney. For the past year she has been in failing health, and death was a welcome release on the early morning of December 1. Mrs. Davis was a lifelong member of the Methodist Episcopal church, a true Christian and has gone to a merited reward. She is survived by her husband, Clarence E. Davis, the son, W. A. Brown, of Friend, the daughter, Mrs. F. C. Mills of Sidney, three step-children, Lawrence R Davis of Chicago, Mrs. A. R. Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Vern Livingston of Sidney; four sisters, Mrs. Amelia Daddow, Mrs. Annie May, of Loup City, Mrs. Ethel Throckmorton, Rockville, and Mrs. B. W. Parkhurst of Caldwell, ID, six grandchildren, beside many other relatives and a host of dear friends. Few people can rightfully claim more intimate friends than Mrs. Davis. She always had a kindly word for everyone, never spoke evil of anyone, and always looked on the bright side of life.
