Description	:	Son of Joseph Allen & Louisa Ellison LaBoone; husband of Cleo Elizabeth Gilliard LaBoone. Mr. LaBoone was retired from the Easley, SC Police Department after 25 years of service. He was employed with Easley beginning on April 20 1931 as a nightwatchman; he was the only night watchman in the Easley business district for several years, working 12 hour shifts seven days a week. Read More	Son of Joseph Allen & Louisa Ellison LaBoone; husband of Cleo Elizabeth Gilliard LaBoone. Mr. LaBoone was retired from the Easley, SC Police Department after 25 years of service. He was employed with Easley beginning on April 20 1931 as a nightwatchman; he was the only night watchman in the Easley business district for several years, working 12 hour shifts seven days a week. After his health began to fail, Chief LaBoone asked to be relieved from his duties as Chief in 1949 and became a day policeman, a position in which he served until his retirement. Easley Mayor M.L. Lesley and the Easley City Council presented Mr. LaBoone with a gift and letters of commendation at the time of his retirement from the force. Mr. LaBoone was a veteran of World War I and was a German POW for several months. He was a native of Anderson County and a member of the First Baptist Church and the Easley post of the American Legion. Survived by his wife; one son, Joe LaBoone of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Dacus of Greenville; Mrs. Marion Owens of Easley, and Betty LaBoone and Barbara LaBoone, both of the home; one brother, John LaBoone of Greer; one sister, Mrs. R.J. Cox of Greenville, and one half-sister, Mrs. Corrie Acker of Pickens. Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 4, 1956 at First Baptist Church, Easley, conducted by Dr. Norman Lewis and Rev. Herman J. Lewis. Burial: Greenlawn Memorial Park Pallbearers were the aldermen of the City of Easley: James F. McDonald, J.R. King, Paul S. Rampey, Clarence R. McKittrick, Floyd E. Ellison, and Charles E. Hughes. Escort of Honor: The Men's Bible Classes of First Baptist Church, members of the Easley Police and Easley Fire Departments and the Sheriff's Deparment, Mayor M.L. Lesley, City Clerk C.B. Kirkley, Magistrate G.D. Holder, member of the S.C. Highway Patrol stationed in Pickens County, Calvin Turner, Frank Robinson, and former mayors of Easley, SC.
