The son of Robert & Maude Milner, he was born Dec 6, 1901 at Republic, KS, and passed away suddenly 11 May 1970. “Pate” as he was known by all, attended grade school in Republic Co. and one semester at Manhatten, KS, in the veterinary school. He married Irene Roberts on Feb. 24, 1924 at Belleville, KS, and to this union 7 children were born. The son of Robert & Maude Milner, he was born Dec 6, 1901 at Republic, KS, and passed away suddenly 11 May 1970. “Pate” as he was known by all, attended grade school in Republic Co. and one semester at Manhatten, KS, in the veterinary school. He married Irene Roberts on Feb. 24, 1924 at Belleville, KS, and to this union 7 children were born. The couple moved to a farm in Chase Co. in 1928 where they resided until moving to Imperial in 1954. Mr. Milner was engaged in farming interests all of his life, as well as being a sports enthusiast. All 5 of his sons and his 2 sons-in-law served in the Armed Services, and one son was lost in World War Two. Mr. Milner was preceded in death by his sister, 2 brothers, a son Charles and a granddaughter. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Iren, sons: Robert Dean and his wife, Darlyne of Omaha: Delmer and his wife, Wilma on the Milner ranch in Chase Co; Leonard and his wife, Effie of Sunnyvale, CA: Ronald and his wife Monna of Imperial; daughters Virginia and her husband, Carl Ridlen of Omaha and Viola and her husband Dale Bischoff of Wauneta; 16 grand-children; a sister Mrs. Eva DeNoyer of North Loup, NE, brothers John of Belleville, Ks., Max and Sam of Silver Lake, KS. Sunset and evening star. And one clear call for me! And may there no moaning of the bar When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep. Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from the boundless deep Turns again home Twilight and evening Bell, And after that the dark!
