Description	:	Lawrence William Eickman, son of William and Emma Louise Runte Eickman, was born in Republic County, Kansas on April 7, 1897, and passed away at the Republic County Long Term Care at Belleville, Kansas on December 25, 1982, at the age of 85 years. He received his education at the Victor Rural School District No. 36, in Republic County and attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in 1916-1917. Read More	Lawrence William Eickman, son of William and Emma Louise Runte Eickman, was born in Republic County, Kansas on April 7, 1897, and passed away at the Republic County Long Term Care at Belleville, Kansas on December 25, 1982, at the age of 85 years. He received his education at the Victor Rural School District No. 36, in Republic County and attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in 1916-1917. He was united in marriage to Margaret Louise Davis on September 9, 1919, and to this union seven children were born, Donald, Dale, Warren, Milton, Ruth, Neal and Margaret. Mrs. Eickman passed away on April 19, 1943. He was united in marriage to Ruth Marie Corbit on April 4, 1946. Lawrence and his six sisters were born and raised in the Republic County farm purchased by their parents in the fall of 1885. All of his seven children were raised here and Neal now owns the farm. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chester. He was a former leader of the Liberty-Rose Creek 4-H Club, a former director of the Federal Land Bank, and other farm organizations and activities related to over 50 years of farming. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, in 1943; his wife, Ruth in 1977; a son, Dale in 1973; a grandson, Randall TeKolste, in 1961; five sisters, Clara Jester, Mable Klingman, Carrie Meyer, Della Priefert and Edna Brown. He is survived by nine children, Donald and his wife Nellie of Wichita, Kansas; Warren Eickman and his wife Gweneth of Crete, Milton Eickman and his wife Rueberta of Hebron, Miss Ruth Eickman of Lincoln, Neal Eickman and his wife Donna of Chester, Mrs. Margaret TeKolste and her husband Larry, Des Moines, Iowa; Elmer Corbit and his wife Betty of Loup City, Mrs. Betty Casselman and her husband Richard of Hiawatha, Kansas; Mrs. Ruth E. Canning and her husband Virgil of Seward, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Betty Eickman of Grand Forks, N.D.; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Florence) Larkins of Chester; 40 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church of Chester on December 28, at 10 a.m., conducted by the Reverend Jean Samuelson. Interment was in the Chester cemetery (sic).
