Description	:	Legrand Richardson, Sr., 82, of Mount Pleasant and formerly of Huger, SC, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 6, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nell Pinner Richardson. The relatives and friends of Legrand Richardson are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, February 10, 2006 at Hibben United Methodist Church at eleven o'clock. Mr. Richardson was born April 9, 1923 in Gresham, SC, the son of the late Walter and Mary Elizabeth Richardson. Having graduated from Brittons Neck High School in 1940. He honorably served his country during World War II in the US Navy. While serving on the USS Belleau Wood, his unit received a Presidential Citation for Extraordinary Heroism. He also served on the USS Milwaukee. Mr. Richardson graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1949 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was the founder of Atlantic Electric, Atlantic Fabricators, and Atlantic Industries. He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers; senior member of Electrical and Electronic Engineers; member of South Carolina Society of Engineers; served as President in 1968 of the South Carolina Chapter of National Electrical Contractors Association. In 1969 he served as President of the Coastal Area Mechanical Contractors Association; in 1971 he was state Vice President and in 1972 was state President of the Mechanical Contractors Association of SC. Mr. Richardson was a member of Hibben United Methodist Church where he served a Chairman of Membership and Evangelism Committee; Church School Superintendent; Trustee and Lay Speaker. He is survived by two sons, Legrand Richardson, Jr. of Charleston, SC and Michael F. Richardson of Sullivan's Island, SC, two daughters, Nancy R. Shimp of Sacramento, CA and Lodema R. Adams of Sullivan's Island, SC, four grandchildren, Crystal M. Adams, Michael F. Richardson, Jr., Kelly E. Richardson and Courtney M. Adams, and siblings, William Everette Richardson of Hemingway, SC, Katie R. Byrd and her husband, James, of Sullivan's Island, SC. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Fred Richardson, Brookie Richardson, Flossie R. Allen, Walter Grady Richardson, Don Vaught Richardson and Isla R. Miller.
