Description	:	Lelia M. Rolston was born to Hugh and Minerva Watts Rolston, on July 14, 1869 at Greenfield, Ohio and passed away January 12, 1951 at her home in Nodaway, Iowa. She came to Iowa with her parents and family at the age of 11 years. She was educated in the Nodaway schools and later attended Highland Park College in Des Moines. Rolston was born to Hugh and Minerva Watts Rolston, on July 14, 1869 at Greenfield, Ohio and passed away January 12, 1951 at her home in Nodaway, Iowa. She came to Iowa with her parents and family at the age of 11 years. She was educated in the Nodaway schools and later attended Highland Park College in Des Moines. Her chosen profession was that of a teacher, serving successfully in a number of schools in Adams County. It was the harships she endured during those years that later caused her deafness and kept her from enjoying many social activities. She was united in marriage to Oscar W. Starr on July 1, 1894 at her home in Nodaway by Rev. R. O. Rowley. They located on a farm three miles southeast of Nodaway where their two daughters, now Mrs Zola Ruben and Mrs. Marie Repass were born. After five years in this home, they moved a half a mile east of Nodaway where they have lived the past 52 years. On July 1, 1961, Mr. and Mrs. Starr celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. She was united with the Presbyterian Church in Nodaway early in life and was active in church work until her health prevented, The Bible was her great consolation and she enjoyed sermons from the radio, that otherwise she would have missed. Mrs. Starr was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mrs. Lulu Parks, two other sisters, Mrs. Sadie Johnson and Mrs. Margaret Kensinger, also a brother Thomas Rolston. She is survived by her devoted husband, her two daughters, Zola Ruben of Lenox and Marie Repass of Villisca, her two sons-in-law, Clarence Ruben and William Repass, and two sisters, Mrs. Dove Dowd of Nashua, Iowa and Mrs. Ben J. Gibson of Des Moines. A number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Services were held Tuesday, January 15, 1952 at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, Nodaway, with Rev. William Niles officiating. Music was by Mrs. J. R. Dismukes and Mrs. William Niles, accompanied by Mrs. Rose Stalder. The flower ladies were Mrs. Clyde Vaughn and Mrs. Gertrude Agnew. Pall bearers were Fred Carothers, Harold Everett, Gilbert Rider, Chas. Wood, Ted Kennedy, and Harold Narigon. Interment was made in the Nodaway Cemetery.
