Mrs. Belt the former Lena Hoeck, was born Feb. 27, 1902, on a farm north of Emerson, the daughter of Christian and Dora Heitmann Hoeck. She was baptized on July 20, 1902, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and confirmed on Aug. 20, 1919. She attended country school, until the eight grade. Read More	Lena Belt Lena Belt 94, of Emerson, Neb died Friday, Aug 16, 1996 at Heritage of Emerson Nursing Home in Emerson. Mrs. Belt the former Lena Hoeck, was born Feb. 27, 1902, on a farm north of Emerson, the daughter of Christian and Dora Heitmann Hoeck. She was baptized on July 20, 1902, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and confirmed on Aug. 20, 1919. She attended country school, until the eight grade. She married Thomas Belt on Feb. 16, 1922 in Council Bluffs, Iowa: The couple farmed northwest of Emerson until 1935 when they moved to Emerson. Mr. Belt died Oct, 27, 1965. Mrs. Belt moved to Heritage of Emerson on July 11, 1986. Mrs. Belt was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Survivors included a son, Hermie (Rachel) of Emerson; three daughters, Kathryn (James H.) Mitchell of Allen, Neb., Esther (Charles) Watkins of Hubbard, Neb., and Doris (Glen) Duncan of Thurston, Neb.; a brother Harry Hoeck; of Emerson; 39 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, William, Albert, Herman, and Chris; her sisters, Mary Demke, Martha Dittman, Clara Lamp and Rosa Kahl, Emma, Johanna and Anna; three sons, Virgil in infancy and Harold and Donald; a daughter in-law, Mylet; four grandsons, Richard and James Belt, and Charles L. and Ronald Watkins; a great-grandson and a great-great-granddaughter. Services were held Aug 19 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emerson with the Rev. Kenneth Kramer and the Rev. David Belt officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. A prayer service was held at the church. The Munderloh Funeral home in Emerson was in charge of arrangements.
