She graduated from Emerson (NE.) Public School in 1953. She married Glen E. Duncan on October 8, 1955. Two children were born to this union. The couple farmed near Thurston, NE. and attended the Presbyterian Church in Thurston, NE. Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her cats and dogs. Doris was a member of the Methodist Church in Thurston, NE. before joining the John Huss Presbyterian Church in Thurston, NE. She was an excellent cook. She enjoyed crocheting, working with ceramics, playing cards, gardening and raising flowers. Doris liked visiting with friends and even traveled to Branson, MO. with them. Doris is survived by: children, Tom Duncan and his wife Cathy of Emerson, NE. and Ron Duncan of Pender, NE.; grandchildren: Mick Duncan and his wife Rebecca of Emerson, NE., Aliscia Anderson and her husband Aaron of Fremont, NE., Andy Duncan and his wife Amber of Fort Riley, KS. and Tommy Duncan of Pender, NE.; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Esther Watkins of Hubbard, NE.; sisters-in-law, Rachel Belt of Emerson, NE., Joyce Blair of Homer, NE. and Ruby Duncan of Thurston, NE.; brother-in-law, Marvin Duncan of Hubbard, NE. and a host of relatives and friends. Doris is preceded in death by: husband Glen Duncan; parents; sister, Kathryn Mitchell; brothers, Harold, Donald, Hermie and infant brother Virgil Belt. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Emerson, Nebraska.
