She grew up and received her education in Central City and was a graduate of the Central City High School. She married Helmet Butts February 22, 1922. They farmed in Merrick County. They moved into Central City about five years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Platte Valley Sunday School Circle Survivors include her husband; a son, Max of Clarks [NE]; two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Jensen and Mrs. Wilma Ruge, both of Central City; a brother, Merle Brown of Grand Island [NE]; four sisters, Mrs. Arta Packer and Mrs. Margaret Person, both of Central City, Mrs. Alice Davidson of Laramie WY and Mrs. Ruth Lendstrom of Elm Creek NE, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother and a great grandson.
