Description	:	Leola (Ingersoll) Harms, 93, of Waverly, Iowa, died early Monday morning, January 24, 2011, at the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa of natural causes. Leola was born on January 20, 1918, in northwest Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Truman "Lee" and Isabelle Pearl (Ormston) Ingersoll. Leola was baptized at the First Methodist Church in Waverly. Read More	Leola (Ingersoll) Harms, 93, of Waverly, Iowa, died early Monday morning, January 24, 2011, at the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa of natural causes. Leola was born on January 20, 1918, in northwest Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Truman "Lee" and Isabelle Pearl (Ormston) Ingersoll. Leola was baptized at the First Methodist Church in Waverly. Leola attended the Waverly School System, graduating from the Waverly High School in 1937. Following her graduation, Leola worked at the RyLon Café near the old canning factory in Waverly. She later worked for Vi Luhring in the Uptown Café in Waverly, before going to work at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo. On September 2, 1946, Leola was united in marriage to Paul Herman Harms at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo. The couple made their home in Waverly. Paul died on July 29, 2007, and Leola continued to live in her home until August of 2008, when she moved to the Hiawatha Care Center to be closer to her daughter Judy and her family. Leola's family is thankful for the wonderful care mom received while a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center. Leola was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly, where she had been very active in Sunday school, Luther Circle and other church work. She was also active with the V.F.W. Post #2208 Auxiliary, American Legion Post #176 Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star, Walk and Talk, 60 and Growing, Good Sam Club, 1918 Club, and St. Paul's Quilting Do Day. Leola enjoyed working with Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, traveling with family in their Motor Home, camping and spending time with family, friends, and grandchildren. Leola also enjoyed playing cards and games. Leola is survived by her three children and their spouses, daughter, Judy (Frank) Spinler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, two sons, David (Cindy) Harms of Iowa City, Iowa, Edward (Stephanie) Harms of Swanzey, New Hampshire; four grandchildren, Cher (Kurt) Stephenson of Cedar Rapids, Eric Harms of Ames, Iowa, Jessica Harms of Swanzey, New Hampshire, Eddie Harms of Boston, Massachusetts; one great grandson, Cody Rawson of Cedar Rapids; Leola's special son, Peter (Gerie) Witkamp of Hilversum, Netherlands, and their children, Harm Peter and Roland; her companion and best friend, "Belle", her toy poodle, three brothers-in-law, one sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Leola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul, a brother, Ivan W. Ingersoll, five sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly, with Pastor Curt Schneider officiating. Public visitation will be held on Friday, January 28th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where there will be a public Eastern Star service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Waverly V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Luther Circle), or the Hiawatha Care Center.
