Monty CONCORDIA — Leonard A. Monty, 67, Concordia, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1989, at the St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia. Mr. Monty was born Jan. 23, 1922, at Aurora. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He farmed in the St. Joseph Community until he moved to Concordia. He worked for 40 years for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and he did lawn care work for several Concordia area families. He was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. An infant son, Raymond, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Wilma of the home; a daughter, Loleta Deaver of Concordia; two brothers, LaVerne and Eldemore, both of Beloit; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, the Revs. John Lahey and Roger Meitl officiating. Military services will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde, conducted by the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel, Concordia. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
