Read More	OBITUARY: Pocahontas Democrat, Pocahontas, Iowa, Thursday, 4 Oct 1923, pg.1 LEONARD STORR OBITUARY The late Leonard Storr, whose sad death we noted in last week's issue, had been a resident of Pocahontas county for the past eighteen years. His death comes as a great shock to the people of this community, as but a few days previous he was in the full bloom of health and it was little thot at that time that his obituary would so soon be chronicled. The deceased was a highly respected citizen of the community in which he lived. He was a quiet unassuming gentleman and we believe it would be safe to say that in the scope of his acquaintance he had no enemies. During all of his life in this county he was hard working, frugal and industrious citizen. The result of his honest labor was a goodly share of this world's goods, which was being put to good use by him in rearing and educating a large family of boys and girls. His premature death is indeed a sad blow to his faithful wife and children. But 49 years of age and would in a few years more have been able to retire from active labor and enjoy a well earned rest, but the grim reaper would not await, but with a short warning upon this fine citizen, called upon him to gibe an account of his stewardship. Leonard Storr was born in Germanville township, Chatsworth, Illinois, in June 26, 1874. He resided there with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Storr until January 11, 1905, when he came to Pocahontas and married Miss Anna Kemmer, daughter of Mr. and and Mrs. Peter Kemmer of this city. There are seven children; Marie, Carl, Genevieve, Monica, Leonard, Anna and Laurence. He died September 26, 1923, at 3:15 P.M., at his home near Havelock. Besides his family he leaves to mourn his loss, his mother, Mrs. Armella Storr of Chatsworth, Illinois, and four sisters, Mrs. Jas. Weller, Ashkum, Illinois; Mrs. Richard Weller, Chatsworth, Illinois, Mrs. John Rock, Roberts, Illinois, and Miss Teresa Storr, Chatsworth, Illinois. Also a brother, Mr. August Storr, Dubuque, Iowa. These all attended the funeral. His father, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. The funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church at Pocahontas on Saturday morning at nine o'clock and he was laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. Transcribed by Teresa Davis
