Description	:	Leonard W. Dostal, 85, of Traer, died Thursday, April 30, at Sunrise Hill Care Center, Traer. He was born Feb. 15, 1930, in Toledo, son of Peter and Albina Podhajsky Dostal. He married Maryan Wacha on June 6, 1953, at the chapel of the U.S. Marine Base in Barstow, Calif. She preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2014. He was born Feb. 15, 1930, in Toledo, son of Peter and Albina Podhajsky Dostal. He married Maryan Wacha on June 6, 1953, at the chapel of the U.S. Marine Base in Barstow, Calif. She preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2014. Leonard graduated from Toledo High School in 1948 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He then started farming and milking cows near Clutier and Traer. He later worked as an insurance adjuster while continuing to farm. He was a member of St. Paul and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Leonard was an extremely passionate farmer, a true steward of the land. He was very active in his church and volunteered frequently. He also made sure there was vacation time with the family every year. Most of all, Leonard enjoyed visiting with people. Survived by his children, JoAnn (Chuck) Murphy of Dike, Loren (Sarah) Dostal of Toledo, Jeff (Julie) Dostal of Traer, Barb (Kendall) Jordan, also of Toledo, and Martin (Anita) Dostal, also of Traer; grandchildren, Michael (Kristen), Jason and Lindsay Murphy, Trace and Zach Stegman, Jacob Dostal, Alexa and Jackson Dostal, Nicholas and Megan Jordan, and Joshua, Bryce and Hunter Dostal; a great-granddaughter, Claire Murphy; many nieces, nephews; and his extended family at Sunrise Hill Care Center. Preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Thomas; a grandson in infancy, Gabriel Dostal; and a brother, Stanley Dostal. Services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Traer, with burial in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery, rural Clutier. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home in Traer, with a 4 p.m. rosary and military rites conducted by Clutier American Legion. Memorials may be directed to the family.
