He died Wednesday morning at his home, October 22nd at Scotia, after a heart attack. He was 81 years of age. His family moved to Davis Creek by covered wagon when Paul was a year old. He died Wednesday morning at his home, October 22nd at Scotia, after a heart attack. He was 81 years of age. His family moved to Davis Creek by covered wagon when Paul was a year old. He grew to manhood in that community and attended school at District 71. Being interested in Agriculture, he became a farmer. On May 8, 1917 he was married to Blanche Halla at St. Paul. They lived near Cotesfield until 1948 when they moved to a farm near Scotia. They retired from active farm work last July and moved into town. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1967. Six children were born to this union: Verna, Blanche, Joe, Margery, Ralph and Martin Lee. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and has been a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Scotia. He was preceded in death by a son Ralph who was killed in Korea, June 6th, 1951; his parents, four brothers, Joe, Frank, John and Emil and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Klein and Mrs. Antonia Krchnavy. Surviving him are his wife, Blanche of Scotia; two sons, Joe of Cotesfield, Martin Lee of Tacoma, Washington; three daughters, Mrs. Willis (Verna) Beck of Mason City; Mrs. Wesley (Blanche) Hermsmeyer of Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Louis (Margery) Conwell of Merced, California; two sisters, Mrs. Anton Tuma of Valpariso, Florida, and Mrs. Harry Bennett of Bassett; eleven grandchildren and one great-grant child, Jeanette Kristine Coufal.
