Description	:	Leota Jane Farver, the daughter of Paul and Carrie (Peters) Hattan, was born on March 20, 1938 at Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away on October 5, 2006 in Nelson at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 15 days. Leota graduated from Nelson High School in Nelson, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Elbert R. Farver on August 16, 1955 and this union was blessed with four children. They lived in Imperial, Nebraska for 10 years, returning to Nelson in 1966. Read More	Leota Jane Farver, the daughter of Paul and Carrie (Peters) Hattan, was born on March 20, 1938 at Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away on October 5, 2006 in Nelson at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 15 days. Leota graduated from Nelson High School in Nelson, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Elbert R. Farver on August 16, 1955 and this union was blessed with four children. They lived in Imperial, Nebraska for 10 years, returning to Nelson in 1966. Leota was employed as a nurses assistant at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center. She was a member of the Legion Auxialiary and the Eastern Star O.E.S. Chapter 27 and the Nelson Community United Church of Christ all of Nelson. She was an avid Nebraska Football fan and enjoyed watching Chicago Cubs baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elbert on August 15, 1996, a brother Wilbur and a sister Arneta Pittman. Survivors include her daughters, Sheri Sloane of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Kriss Knaus and husband Gary of Omaha, Nebraska and sons, Scott of Arkansas and Curtis of Nelson, Nebraska; one brother, Hubert and wife Margaret of Concordia, Kansas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 9, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating. Special music was by Tom Jensen and Carlita Erickson as organist. Pallbearers were Bill Sloane, Jessie Hartlett, Gary Knaus, Gordon Meyer, Howard Olsen, and Steve Rakowsky. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska. Memorials may go in care of the family. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
