He was born in Crisfield, a son of the late George T. and Virginia Parks Landon. Landon was a retired marine policeman, and worked for many years for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police. A World War II Army veteran, he served with the 23rd Infantry Division in France and Germany and was wounded twice in the European Theater of Operations.
