Landon, died at her home on Hudson street Friday morning of last week, of a heart attack. She was 58 years of age. Mrs. Landon had not been in good health for some time, but lately her health had seemed to improve. The evening before she had been in town early and had spent the rest of the evening very enjoyably with her family, until she was stricken with the heart attack. She was the daughter of the late John and Emma Parks and the widow of the late George T. Landon. Mrs. Landon had a wide circle of friends in the community. She was a quiet, friendly, understanding person, a fine neighbor, and many were the deeds of kindness she performed in a manner that endeared her to those she helped and gained for her the admiration and respect of others. She was devoted to her family, and while her health permitted, took an active part in the work of Mt. Pleasant Church, of which she was a member. As a daughter, wife mother and friend she had a full and active life and there is sincere sorrow in many hearts that she has passed away. Funeral services were held at her home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. L. Bennett, assisted by Rev. J. N. Triplett and Rev. Moorefield. Interment was beside the body of her husband in the Crisfield cemetery. Bearers were James Henderson, Russel Charnock, Eugene Tyler, Charles Warwick, Arthur Landon, and Earl Morris. At the services the house and yard were filled with relatives and friends, there to pay their last respects to her, and the many lovely floral pieces which banked her casket gave silent testimony to the affection and esteem in which she was held. She is survived by six children, all of whom were with her when the end came: Clifford Byrd, Geo. T. Landon. Jr., of New Castle, Del., Charles L. Landon, John C. Landon, Leroy J. Landon and Mrs. Mildred Tyler, of Crisfield, two sisters Mrs Stella Marshall and Mrs. Edna Laird, and 12 grandchildren. The Crisfield Times, July 5, 1946 pg.1
