Description	:	LeRoy V. Jobman, age 77, Beatrice, died April 11, 2009 at the Beatrice Manor Care Center. He was born December 18, 1931, on the family farm, east of Beatrice, to Henry and Wilhelmine "Minnie" (Jurgens) Jobman where he lived all his life until moving to Beatrice in 2001. He was married to Irene A. Bruns on January 20, 1952, at the American Lutheran Church, Filley, Nebraska. Jobman, age 77, Beatrice, died April 11, 2009 at the Beatrice Manor Care Center. He was born December 18, 1931, on the family farm, east of Beatrice, to Henry and Wilhelmine "Minnie" (Jurgens) Jobman where he lived all his life until moving to Beatrice in 2001. He was married to Irene A. Bruns on January 20, 1952, at the American Lutheran Church, Filley, Nebraska. To this union five sons and one daughter were born: Virgil, Thomas, Paul, Nadine, Mark and Russell. He served his country as a Marine during the Korean War and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, in San Diego, California from 1952 to 1954. For seven of those months, he was stationed in Japan. After his enlistment, he returned home to the family farm. He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He served on the Church Council, was Church Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the Men's Brotherhood serving as president and secretary, Men's Choir and the Mixed Choir. He also served on the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Board from 1983 to 1997. He was a charter member of the Beatrice Rural Fire Department serving for 50 years while serving as chief for five years and secretary/treasurer for eight years. He was a member of the Southeast Nebraska Elevator Board for 19 years. He was vice president of AAL Branch 9085, was a former member of the Hunt School District #16 School Board and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. In addition to farming, he was an accomplished carpenter building his house and many of the buildings on his farmstead. He took great pride in maintaining his farm. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and loved to attend his family's sporting events while he was able. He was also an avid Husker and Kansas City Royals fan and enjoyed history, genealogy and traveling. His faith in God was strong and he looked forward to his family sharing daily devotions while he resided at the Beatrice Manor Care Center. He is survived by four sons, Virgil Jobman and wife Pat of Filley, Paul Jobman, Mark Jobman, and wife Karen, Russell Jobman and wife Missy, all of Beatrice, one daughter, Nadine Hibbert and husband Larry of Beatrice; nine grandchildren, Melissa Haecker and husband Dana of Lincoln, Brynn Jobman of Filley, Kelsey Hibbert and fiancé, Charles Wiiest of Holdrege, Andrew Hibbert and fiancée, Natasha Weishahn of Lincoln, Cassie Baete-Jobman, Lincoln, Matthew, Caleb, Noah and Hannah Jobman all of Beatrice, two great-grandchildren, Taylon and Bryson Haecker of Lincoln; sister Rosetta Stevens of Gothenburg, sisters-in-law, Ann Jobman, Theda Jobman, and Shirley Bruns all of Beatrice. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, on July 2, 2008, his parents, Henry and Minnie (Jurgens) Jobman, son: Thomas, three brothers: John, Ernest, and Wilfred, two sisters: Tena Lieneman and Irene Dorn, granddaughter Natalie Jobman, grandson Zachary Jobman. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday April 15, 2009, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beatrice with Pastor Chuck Bentjen officiating. Visitation at Harman Wright Mortuary, Beatrice Monday & Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening. A family prayer service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Militarty Graveside honors will be conducted by Bitting- Norman Post 27 of the American Legion, Beatrice and the U.S. Marines. Memorial established to the family's choice with Edwin and Irene Folkerts in charge. Harman-Wright Mortuary of Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
