Survivors include a son, Robert of Wauneta and Carroll "Coke" of Lawrence; nine grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p,m. today at Klawltter-Price Funeral Home. ----- Leslie George Troudt, son of John and Minnie (Klawitter) Troudt, was born July 17, 1916, at Nelson, Nebraska. He passed away Monday, October 15, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 28 days. He attended grade school in Nelson and Bruning and completed seventh and eighth grade at Brown Rural School District #17 near Nelson. September 2, 1939, he married D. Leone Adamson at her parents' home in Nelson. This union was blessed with three sons and one daughter. They lived on the family farm near Nelson. In 1957, they moved into Davenport. After a short time they moved back to Nelson and purchased the Blacksmith Shop and operated it until 1969. They moved to Hastings where Leslie was a maintenance foreman at Dutton-Lainson for 20 years. They also lived in Seward and Alma before moving back to Nelson. Leslie lives at Nelson Good Samaritan Center at the time of his death. Leslie was a former member of the Evangelical Free Church in Alma and the Internal Order of Odd Fellows at Nelson. He was a member of the Nelson town baseball team, playing third baseman for 10 years. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, D. Leone on March 13, 2001; an infant daughter; one son, John Wayne Troudt; two grandsons, Nicholas Troudt and Williams O'Neil; and one brother, LaVern Troudt. Survivors include two sons, Robert and his wife Bev of Wauneta, Nebraska, and Carroll (Coke) and his wife Cindy of Lawrence, Nebraska; a daughter-in-law, Patsy Troudt of Nelson; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2001, at Nelson Community United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Ralph Sturdy officiating. Music was "Because He Lives", "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder" and "One Day at a Time" with Alfred and Janell Hanson as vocalists and Carlita Price as organist. Burial was in Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ryan Troudt, David Dennis, Eric Troudt, Dave Nickelson, Casey Troudt, John Himmelberg, Tim Lane, Brian O'Neil, Dan Clem and Jonathan Dennis. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Sims, Virgil Dillman, Dwight Adamson, Ivan Troudt and Gus Harms. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family in care of Carroll Troudt, PO Box 21, Lawrence NE 68957 for the Nelson Community United Church of Christ or Nelson Good Samaritan Center.
