It was in Wolbach that he chose to live the greater part of his life with the exception of a period from 1953 to July of 1958 when he lived in Omaha, Nebraska. Read More	From The Wolbach Messenger, February 5, 1959, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Leslie Nels Jacobsen was born August 30, 1908, the son of Peter Jacobsen and his wife Anna Boesen in the vicinity of Wolbach, Nebraska. It was in Wolbach that he chose to live the greater part of his life with the exception of a period from 1953 to July of 1958 when he lived in Omaha, Nebraska. While living in Omaha he was employed as a stock man and later as a machinist. Following this he returned to Wolbach where he was to live the remainder of his life. He passed from this life on February 3, 1959, at the age of 52 years, five months and four days. He leaves to mourn his passing his mother; three sisters, Mrs. LaFerne Lange of Wolbach, Nebraska, Mrs. Agnes Frost of Wolbach, Nebraska, and Mrs. Sylvia Bucy of Grand Island, Nebraska; and a brother, Mr. Alvin Jacobsen of Wolbach, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Howard. As a youth Leslie Jacobsen was very interested in sports. For a while he played with the town baseball team. He was to retain that interest in sports and good sportsmanship throughout his life. His interest in sports also led him to an interest in helping others in other ways. Lesie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He recalled with pleasant memories the days of his catechism classes at the church. He had expressed his desire to be in the church the last few weeks, but his illness had prevented it. All through his illness he accepted it with an inner calm that was indicative of his depth of faith, and his ability to be cheerful in spite of his suffering was a comfort and assurance to his loved ones and to those who came in contact with him during these days.
