Jacobsen was born November 23, 1912 to Peter and Anna Jacobsen of Wolbach and died August 13, 1962 at the St. Francis Hospital in grand Island at the age of 49 years, 8 months and 21 days. He lived his entire life in the Wolbach area, attended the Wolbach schools and the St. Paul Business College. He served with the Armed Forces in the Pacific area during World War II. He and Elaine Johnston were married February 23, 1946 at Big Springs, Nebraska. They lived on a farm near Wolbach until 1953 when they moved to town. He was manager of the Farmer Union Co-op Oil Co. the past year. He had served on the school board and was a member of the Village Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Ray Mapes American Legion Post 236 at Wolbach and also a member of the Wolbach Fire Department. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Elaine; a son, Lyle and a daughter, Lona Kay, both at home; his mother of Wolbach, and three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Frost and Mrs. Laferne Lange, both of Wolbach, and Mrs. Sylvia Bucy of Grand Island.
