Father, Brother, Two Sisters Survive Funeral services for the late Lester Lutjen were held at the parental John Lutjen home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, followed by rites at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in charge of the Rev. Singers were Albert and Wilbert Moeller, Martin Michel and Arnold Loese. In charge of floral tributes were Marie Sturtz, Frances Meyer, Ione Eckley and Vera Murken. Pallbearers were Adreon Cottington, Marion Munsinger, Gaylord Rush, Herbert Murken, Herschel Tietjen and Warren Ahrens. Interment was in the St. Paul Cemetery. Life Sketch It was on the third of June of the year 1921, that Lester Louis Lutjen, was born by the union of Caroline nee Blaess and John Lutjen. Upward to two weeks after birth, he was placed into the loving arms of his Savior through the sacrament of Holy Baptism, administered by the Reverend Mr. O. C. Geisler. His childhood was spent in his parental home, where he was brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. He attended elementary school in Boone County rural schools. On his birthday, in the year 1934, he knelt before the altar of this church, for the purpose of promising absolute allegiance to his God for time and for eternity, according to the rite of confirmation. Upon confirmation, he attended high school in Stanhope, Iowa, from which he graduated in May of this year. Shortly after graduation he went to Des Moines to have an illness corrected which had fastened itself upon his body some time ago. His condition became gradually worse until Saturday of last week, when at 11:30 p.m. he fell asleep, trusting in his Savior. He went to join his mother who preceded him in death, in December, 1934, and a little brother. He is survived by his father, John Lutjen, a sister, Margaret, two brothers, Raymond of Des Moines and Kenneth at home, and his aged grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Blaess of Boone, as well as by a host of friends and relatives. Oh Lord so teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Thanks to helpers.
