Scotia Register, Scotia, NE, 28 March 1934: Al Locker Rites Held Saturday Afternoon Funeral Services For Long Time Scotia Resident Are Held in the Methodist Church Burial in Scotia Cemetery Funeral services for Al Locker, who died Wednesday noon, March 21, were held at the Methodist church in Scotia Saturday afternoon with Rev. L. A. Moore in charge. Interment was in the Scotia cemetery. Lewis Albert Locker was born on October 24, 1858 at Crown Point, Lake County, Indiana, and passed from this life at his home in Scotia on Wednesday, March 21, 1934, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 29 days. He came to Greeley county, Nebraska in 1883, later buying a farm on Fish Creek where he, with his mother, lived until 1910 when they moved to Scotia. He was never married and leaves no immediate relatives. As an individual he was an honest, sincere man, who enjoyed nothing more than to serve his friends. He has many warm friends. He has many warm friends who will greatly miss him. In 1920 he united with the Methodist church in Scotia by letter and was a faithful member at the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his death two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Ed Locker of Oswego, Oregon, and Mrs. Levi Locker of Monmouth, a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives. 'Tis ours to miss thee, all our years, And tender memories of thee keep; Thine in the Lord to rest, for so, He giveth his beloved sleep.
