Description	:	Lewis Dudley Owens was born May 6, 1847, near Greensburg, Decatur Co., Ind. In early boyhood he moved with his parents to Jasper County, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Harriet Totton November 18, 1868. To this union were born five children. In 1873, he homesteaded in Fillmore County, Nebraska, living on the farm near Burress, thirty-four years and moving to Geneva, February 25, 1907, where he resided until his death, April 10, 1918. In early boyhood he moved with his parents to Jasper County, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Harriet Totton November 18, 1868. To this union were born five children. In 1873, he homesteaded in Fillmore County, Nebraska, living on the farm near Burress, thirty-four years and moving to Geneva, February 25, 1907, where he resided until his death, April 10, 1918. He was aged 70 years, 11 months and 4 days. He united with the Christian Church at the age of 16, and was ever a faithful member throughout his life. He deceased was a sufferer from organic heart trouble the last two years, exhibiting untiring patience through all his sickness. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife of Geneva; and five children: Francis M. of Burress, Cora A. of Fairmont, Claire E. of Des Moines, Ia., Alman L. of Ft. Morgan, Col., and Ralph E. of McCook, Neb.; five grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers. The funeral took place from the Christian Church in Geneva at 1:30 p.m., Saturday and was conducted by Rev. E. M. Johnson, of the Christian Church and Rev. R. H. Thompson of the Methodist Church. The interment was in the Exeter Cemetery. Among those here to attend the funeral were Joseph Owens of Bliss, Neb., Mrs. James Forsythe of Carson, Ia., Will Totten of Omaha and Charles Totten of Nora.
