Description	:	Lewis Wilbur Thomas, son of George and Rosa Thomas, was born October 28, 1884 in Round Grove township, near Dwight, Illinois. He passed away September 28th, 1953 at Warsaw, Indiana at the age of sixty-eight years and eleven months. He came to this community with his parents in 1892 and lived on a farm northeast of Chester until 1928 when he went to Indiana, where he farmed until he was stricken by a heart attack on September 14th. Read More	Lewis Wilbur Thomas, son of George and Rosa Thomas, was born October 28, 1884 in Round Grove township, near Dwight, Illinois. He passed away September 28th, 1953 at Warsaw, Indiana at the age of sixty-eight years and eleven months. Lewis was a member of the Methodist Church of Warsaw, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father and mothers, two brothers, Lawrence M. and Elmer J., and one sister, Mrs. Alta Crouse. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Beiswnager of Warsaw, Indiana and Mrs. Bessie Treptow of Ord, Nebr.; one brother, Lloyd L. Thomas of Chester; eight nieces and four nephews; many other relatives and a host of friends in this community and in Indiana. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, October 2, at 2:30 from the Chester Methodist Church with Rev. J.K. Irwin officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. F.C. Duey and Mrs. W.W. Williams, accompanied by Mrs. F.C. Haifleigh. Pallbearers were John Adams, W.J. Crouse, Ben Adams, Charles Hudson, Harley Herald and Charles Butts. Interment was made in the Chester Cemetery. Those here from out of town who attended the Lewis Thomas services Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Beiswanger, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Beiswanger and Mrs. Herschel Fuller of Warsaw, Ind.; Mrs. Bessie Treptow of Ord; Mr. and Mrs. Emery Thomas of Shickley; Mrs. Hattie Worrell of Lincoln; Pat Bailey of Fairbury and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Bailey of Gilead.
