Description	:	Alta Harriet Thomas was born October 23, 1886 in Livingston county (sic), Illinois, and departed this life Thursday, Jan. 11, being 64 years, 2 months and 19 days old. When six years of age, she moved with her parents to a farm five miles northeast of Chester, Nebr. where she grew to womanhood. She is a member of the alumni of the Chester Public School, being a graduate of the class of 1903. She was united in marriage with John S. Crouse October 19, 1911. Read More	Alta Harriet Thomas was born October 23, 1886 in Livingston county (sic), Illinois, and departed this life Thursday, Jan. 11, being 64 years, 2 months and 19 days old. When six years of age, she moved with her parents to a farm five miles northeast of Chester, Nebr. where she grew to womanhood. She is a member of the alumni of the Chester Public School, being a graduate of the class of 1903. She was united in marriage with John S. Crouse October 19, 1911. To this union five children were born; two preceded her in death, Paul Delmar at seven years of age and Elmer Lewis at two years of age. She united with the Methodist church (sic) at an early age but after marriage joined the Church of Christ at Chester in which she was a faithful member. It was largely through her life and teaching that all her living children have become active Christians. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, three children, Wilbert E. and John E. of Chester, and Ruth Maahs of Walton, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Delta Beiswanger of Warsaw, Indiana, and Mrs. Bessie Treptow of Ord, Nebr.; two brothers, Lewis of Leesburg, Indiana, and Lloyd of Chester; also many other relatives and friends. The funeral services were held from the Chester Christian church (sic) Sunday, January 14th, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. C.M. Foust officiating. Burial was in the Chester cemetery (sic).
